Have you asked for Forgiveness yet?

We are learning to understand Reconciliation.
I know I can understand Reconciliation by giving examples of what we need to do during Reconciliation.

Reconciliation may make people feel light, happy, sad or sometimes nervous. This special event is only for people that have received their First Communion. At Reconciliation, we tell the priest our wrong doings . Reconciliation happens on the week before Palm Sunday. We have Reconciliation so we can  ask for forgiveness from God for our sins.

40 days and 40 nights

WALT understand the meaning of Lent.
I know I have learnt this when I can write an explanation writing.
This is my explanation writing.
Lent is a time when Jesus suffered for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert without any food.

Lent starts on Wednesday which is known as Ash Wednesday. On Ash Wednesday we go to church and the priest puts ashes on our forehead in the shape of a cross. The ashes are made out of palm leaves that were used from a long time ago. In the olden days people wore sacks and sprinkled ashes over them to say that they were sorry. The ashes remind us to turn back to God.

Lent is the time when we give up something we really like or something that is important to us. We have to keep it up for 40 days and 40 nights. That is how long Jesus fasted for in the desert. After that 40 days and nights we could use it again.

Lent is important because it reminds us when Jesus journeyed in the desert and fasted for 40 days and 40 nights.
